For the second straight week, Gustavus senior forward David Martinson (St. Louis Park, Minn.) has been named MIAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Week, this time for this efforts in last weekend’s series split with Bethel.
In the series split with Bethel, Martinson continued his recent scoring streak as he registered five goals and one assist for a total of six points. Martinson scored four goals in Friday night’s 5-6 overtime loss, and tallied a goal and an assist in the 3-1 Gustavus victory on Saturday. Martinson is currently ranked first in the nation in goals with 10, and is also ranked fifth nationally in scoring with 17 points. The Gusties are now 2-1-1 in the MIAC with an overall record of 4-3-1.
