Baseball Earns Seven All-Conference Awards, Casperson Named MIAC Pitcher of the Year

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its 2023 baseball awards Monday and seven Gusties earned All-Conference honors, highlighted by Mitch Casperson (Jr., Le Sueur) being named MIAC Pitcher of the Year. 

Baseball Blanked in MIAC Playoff Championship

The Gustavus baseball team saw its season come to an end Saturday in the MIAC playoff championship game, losing 4-0 to Bethel.

Gustie Women Win Second Straight MIAC Outdoor Championship, Men Finish Eighth

The Gustie track & field teams wrapped up competition at the MIAC Outdoor Championships, with the women finishing first and the men eighth. The Gustie women collected the program's second-ever and second-straight MIAC Outdoor Championship, winning the title last season as well. The women finished with 154.5 points, followed by St. Olaf with 143 and Saint Benedict with 127.5. Saint John's won the men's competition with 216 points, 40 more than the next team.

Softball Loses Pitching Duel to Bethel in MIAC Playoff Semifinals to End Season

The Gustie softball season came to an end Saturday, suffering a 1-0 loss to MIAC Regular Season Champions Bethel. The Gusties and Royals combined for only six hits in the entire game, as Piper Otto and Bethel pitcher Kayla Simacek put on a clinic in the semifinal matchup, combining for 15 strikeouts.

Men’s Tennis Falls 5-1 In NCAA Tournament Quarterfinal Against Top-Ranked Case Western

The Gustavus men's tennis team ended their season in the NCAA Elite Eight, falling to No. 1 Case Western Reserve University by a score of 5-1. The Gusties finish their season with a record of 26-11.

Gusties Break Records on Day One of MIAC Outdoor Championships

The Gustavus track & field team had a strong start to the MIAC Outdoor Championships, as Annika Poe and Birgen Nelson both broke MIAC records in their events. The Gustie women sit in third after day one with 35 points while the men are in sixth with 24.

Men’s Tennis to Face No. 1 Case Western Reserve in Elite Eight Match

After upsetting the 2022 national champions UChicago in last weekend's Regional Championship, the Gustavus men's tennis team is up for another big challenge in its NCAA Elite Eight matchup. The Gusties are set to face nationally-ranked No. 1 Case Western Reserve University, winners of the 2023 ITA Indoor Nationals, with first serve slotted for 10 a.m. CST on Saturday.

Softball Advances to MIAC Playoff Semifinals with 4-1 Win Over St. Catherine

The Gustavus softball team put together a strong defensive performance against St. Catherine in the opening round of the MIAC Playoffs, defeating the Wildcats 4-1 to advance to the semifinals. The Gusties scored all four of their runs in the first three innings of the game, and held the Wildcats to just one in the fifth for the playoff victory.
