SAINT PETER, Minn. — Gustavus men’s tennis student-athletes Nick Aney (Sr., Rochester) and Daniel Fouchier (Sr., Nootdorp, Netherlands) will compete at the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship on May 18-22 at USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The duo will compete together in the doubles draw, with Aney also competing in singles.
The individual championships consist of 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. The selection of teams and individuals for the championships is based on record, strength of schedule and eligibility and availability of student-athletes. Aney will match up with No. 8-seeded Case Western Reserve’s Vishwa Aduru at 9 a.m. Thursday. Aney and Fouchier were seeded No. 4 in the doubles bracket, and will face Matthew Michibata and Harrison Maitland-Carter of the College of New Jersey at 2:30 p.m. the same day.
Aney is selected to compete at the NCAA Championship for the third-straight year. Aney fell in the first round of the doubles draw in last year’s tournament, and earned All-America status the year before.
