Geraets, Nelson, Poe Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Region honorees on Tuesday and three Gustavus women were selected to the North Region Team. 

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its All-Region honorees on Tuesday and three Gustavus women were selected to the North Region Team.

Birgen Nelson (Sr., Edina) earned All-Region in four events. Nelson owns the top time in the region and the nation in the 60-hurdles at 8.35. She is also fourth in the region in the 60-meter at 7.66, fifth in the region in the 200-meter at 24.83, and first in the region in the 400-meter at 57.42.

Megan Geraets (So., Mankato) joins Nelson as All-Region in the 400-meter with the fourth fastest time in the region at 57.96. And Annika Poe (Sr., Big Lake) earns All-Region in the shot put with the fourth best mark in the region at 47-9.

The top five individuals in each event earn All-Region distinction.
