Sanders, Knight Earn MIAC Men’s Soccer All-Playoff Team Honors

Jack Knight (Jr., Verona, Wis.) and Wesley Sanders (Sr., Urbandale, Iowa) were selected to the All-Playoff Team. 

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its All-Playoff Teams for the MIAC Men’s Soccer Championships on Tuesday and two Gustavus men’s soccer players were honored. Jack Knight (Jr., Verona, Wis.) and Wesley Sanders (Sr., Urbandale, Iowa) were selected to the All-Playoff Team.

In 126 minutes between two games, Knight had three shots and one goal for the Gusties. Knight’s goal came in the 11th minute of the championship game against St. Olaf. Sanders played every minute in goal between the two playoff games, allowing two goals while making 14 saves, including one shutout.

All MIAC sports with conference playoff tournaments (soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, tennis, baseball, and softball) will feature All-Playoff Teams in 2022-23, with the awards being voted on by the head coaches of the qualifying teams. The top vote-getter from each sport will be named the Playoff’s Most Valuable Player.
