WINONA, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s tennis team swept its MIAC competitors on Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 win over Saint Mary’s and a 9-0 victory over Saint John’s. With the wins the Gusties improve to 16-9 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

Gustavus softball kicked off the conference season with a doubleheader sweep at Augsburg on Saturday. The Gusties claimed game one 4-1 before taking the second game 8-0 in five innings.

Women’s Tennis Closes Midwest Invite with 6-3 Win Over Hope

The Gustavus women’s tennis team Saturday morning defeated Hope College 6-3 at the Midwest Invitational. The No. 30-ranked Gusties improve to 9-6 overall while Hope falls to 8-7. The Gusties were supposed to play Kenyon in the fifth place match on Saturday afternoon, but Kenyon was unable to play due to medical issues.

The Gustavus women’s tennis team opened the Midwest Invite on Friday morning with a 6-3 loss to UW-Whitewater at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The No. 30-ranked Gusties drop to 8-6 overall while the No. 33-ranked Warhawks improve to 16-2.
