BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Indraneel Raut (Sr., Oshkosh, Wis.) faced off against Division III tennis heavyweight and reigning ITA Regional Champion John Zakowski of UW-Whitewater at the No. 1 singles spot over the weekend and held his ground en route to a three-set victory over the No. 13 player in the nation. After dropping the first set, Raut doubled down from the baseline to win the second set in a tiebreaker. In a third-set super-tiebreaker, Raut saved multiple match points before clinching a thrilling 17-15 win to hand Zakowski his first loss of the spring season. For his performance, Raut has been named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
