SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s hockey team opened its conference series against the Cobbers and took a 7-1 loss, moving to 4-9-2 overall and 0-4-1 in the MIAC. 

Concordia got on the board nine seconds in for the lead before going on a scoring spree with a 6-0 lead after the first.

The Gusties made a goaltending switch going into the second frame and put up five shots to the Cobbers seven, holding the score to 6-0.

Three minutes into the third, Concordia notched their seventh and final goal. At the 7:37 mark, Tyler Ebner (Sr., La Crosse, Wis.) made a pass in front of the net and Patrick McDonald (So., Camillus, N.Y.) took a shot into the lower right of the net for his first collegiate goal.

Both teams will rematch in a matinee game on Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 puck drop.
