Following careful consideration of the NCAA Division III Administrative Committee’s recommendation that member schools not compete in the fall term to avoid potential increased health and safety risks, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced today that it will postpone all competition until January 2021.

The month of August certainly has been a memorable one for Coley Ries. Two weeks ago, she was named head coach of the Gustavus softball team, followed that announcement with a marital engagement, and is now playing professional softball in the inaugural season of Athletes Unlimited (AU).

The Minnesota Baseball Association recently released state tournament brackets for its three classes and 15 current Gustavus baseball players have the opportunity to play for a state championship.

Coley Ries Named Gustavus Head Softball Coach

Gustavus Adolphus College Athletic Director Tom Brown announced Monday that Coley Ries has been selected as the head softball coach. Ries, a 2017 graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato, has spent the past three seasons as a volunteer and graduate assistant coach at her alma mater.
