Men’s Hockey Uses Big Second Period to Defeat Bethel 6-1

The Gustavus men's hockey team used a five goal second period to take down Bethel 6-1 Friday. With the win the Gusties move to 11-10-3 overall and 7-6-2 in the MIAC, while the Royals fall to 6-14-4 overall and 5-6-4 in the conference. Gustavus also clinched a playoff spot with the win as Saint Mary's fell to Saint John's.

Gymnastics Scores 173.075 in loss to UW-La Crosse

The Gustavus women's gymnastics team traveled to UW-La Crosse Friday and scored a 173.075. The Eagles won the dual with a score of 190.375.

Women’s Basketball Closes Out Regular Season at Augsburg Saturday

The Gustavus women's basketball team will close out its regular season Saturday in a 3 p.m. matchup with Augsburg in Minneapolis. Both teams have punched their ticket to the MIAC playoffs with the Gusties entering the contest 17-7 overall and 13-6 in the MIAC, while they Auggies are 20-4 overall and 16-3 in the conference.

Men’s Basketball Wraps Up Regular Season Saturday at Augsburg

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set for its final game of the regular season Saturday afternoon at Augsburg. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. in Minneapolis. The Gusties, who need a win at Augsburg paired with a St. Olaf loss to Macalester in order to secure a playoff berth, enter the game 8-16 overall and 8-11 in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 17-7 overall and 13-6 in the league.

Gymnastics Travels to UW-La Crosse Friday

The Gustavus gymnastics team will travel to UW-La Crosse on Friday afternoon for a 6:30 meet at the Cartwright Center. Gustavus is most recently coming off a season-high score of 184.800 at the Division I Lindenwood meet Sunday, while La Crosse scored 187.550 in a dual meet win over Winona State Sunday.

No. 4 Gustavus women’s hockey is playing for a conference championship this weekend as it takes on Bethel. Friday’s game at Bethel starts at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s rematch in Saint Peter starts at 2 p.m. The Gusties enter the weekend 18-3-2 overall and 13-1-2 in the MIAC, while the Royals are 8-13-2 overall and 6-8-2 in the league.

Gustavus currently sits fourth in the conference with 22 points, while Bethel is in fifth with 20. The playoff race is tight, as St. Thomas and the Gusties are tied for fourth, and are just two points apart from Bethel and St. Mary’s in fifth.
