BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustavus sophomore Jake Guse (Waseca) on Tuesday was selected as a member of the 2019-20 MIAC Men’s Basketball All-Defensive Team.
Guse led the MIAC in blocks this season with 51, which is 15 more than the next athlete. His 51 blocks are the fourth most in a single season in Gustavus men’s basketball history and the most since Luke Schmidt blocked a program record 54 in the 1998-99 season. Guse had three games this season where he recorded five blocks.
In 24 games played this season, Guse hauled in 138 rebounds for an average of 5.8 per game. He also had seven steals. On offense, Guse averaged 8.8 points and posted 30 assists.
