BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Taylor Rooney (Jr., Andover) clocked another sub-8.05 effort in the 60-meter hurdles last weekend when he went 8.00 at the Maverick Invitational to better his NCAA Division III lead, setting a new Gustavus school record. That mark tied him with two other men for the 13th-best performance in Division III history. Only six men in the past six years have been able to notch three or more sub-8.05 performances in the span of one season. Rooney also posted a time of 22.42 in the 200-meter dash which is the third in the MIAC and 38th best in the NCAA, while his high jump of 2.00 meters is fifth in the MIAC and 31st in the nation. For his performance, Rooney has been named both USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week and MIAC Track Athlete of the Week.
