SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s tennis team begins NCAA regional play at 2 p.m. Saturday against Grinnell at the University of Chicago. The No. 16 Gusties (19-7) earned a first round bye, while Grinnell (26-4) defeated St. Scholastica 5-0 on Friday. The winner of today’s match advances to the region championship match against the winner of Chicago and Augustana at noon Sunday.

Last season, the Gusties and Pioneers met in the second round of the NCAA regional round in Saint Peter with the Gusties winning 5-0. The Gusties have since replaced three singles players and four doubles, while the Pioneer lineup features two new singles players and just one new doubles player.
