BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Nick Aney (Fy., Rochester, Minn.) played a large part in the Gustavus men’s tennis team winning the consolation title at the ITA Indoor Championships, going a combined 6-0 between singles and doubles in three matches against nationally-ranked teams. In singles, Aney won two matches in straight sets after starting the tournament down 6-2 after the first set. He then battled back to win 6-2, 6-2 at his No. 5 position. In doubles play, Aney and partner Yassine Derbani went undefeated at the No. 2 slot. For his performance, Aney has been named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
