The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its men’s basketball postseason awards Tuesday and two Gustavus student-athletes received recognition. Riley Sharbono (Sr., Marshall, Minn.) earned All-Conference Honorable Mention while Nolan Malo (Fy., Owatonna, Minn.) received All First-Year honors.

Nick Aney Named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Nick Aney (Fy., Rochester, Minn.) played a large part in the Gustavus men’s tennis team winning the consolation title at the ITA Indoor Championships, going a combined 6-0 between singles and doubles in three matches against nationally-ranked teams. For his performance, Aney has been named MIAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.

Women’s Tennis Splits Pair of Matches in Washington Sunday

The Gustavus women’s tennis team travelled to Walla Walla, Wash. this weekend and played two matches. The Gusties first defeated Whitman 5-4 before falling to Linfield 6-3. With the results the Gusties record moves to 6-6.

The Gustavus softball team played a doubleheader at the Rochester Regional Bubble on Saturday and fell to Buena Vista 5-0 before falling to No. 20 UW-Oshkosh 11-0. With the losses the Gusties record falls to 1-3 overall.

Men’s Tennis Claims Fifth Place at ITA Indoor Championship

For the second consecutive season the Gustavus men’s tennis team captured the consolation title at the ITA Indoor Championship. The No. 8 Gusties defeated host No. 18 Case Western Reserve 5-0 on Sunday morning for fifth place. The Gusties are now 6-2 overall.
