Jacob Lamb Named MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week

Jacob Lamb (Jr., Madison Lake, Minn.) was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra points in challenging kicking conditions as Gustavus defeated Augsburg for the program's 500th victory all-time. Lamb battled 24-mile-per-hour sustained winds to match his career-high. For his performance, Lamb has been named MIAC Special Teams Athlete of the Week. 

Volleyball Hands Saint Ben’s First MIAC Loss

In a battle of undefeated teams in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the No. 10 Gustavus volleyball team bounced back after a first set loss to beat Saint Benedict in four, 20-25, 25-7, 25-17, 25-23, extending its winning streak to 15 while improving to 23-2 overall and 9-0 in the league.

Football Earns 500th All-Time Win in Shutout Fashion, 42-0 Over Augsburg

Another strong defensive performance paired with a scoring outburst in the first half propelled the Gustavus football team to a 42-0 shutout victory over Augsburg on Saturday afternoon at Hollingsworth Field. The convincing win marks the 500th all-time victory for the Gustavus football program, which is in its 102nd season. Gustavus is now one of 57 NCAA Division III institutions with at least 500 wins.

No. 10 Volleyball Tops Concordia, Holtan Breaks Career Assists Record

History was made Friday night at Gus Young Court. With her third assist of the match, Nora Holtan (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) broke a 22-year old record for most career assists in Gustavus volleyball history, surpassing Jess Lobben’s (1993-96) mark of 4,201. The No. 10-ranked Gusties went on to defeat Concordia in four sets 27-25, 25-15, 20-25, 25-14 for their 14th consecutive win, improving to 22-2 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC.

Women’s Soccer Heads to St. Catherine For MIAC Bout

Volleyball Hosts Two Conference Contests this Weekend

The No. 10 Gustavus volleyball team is set to host its final two regular season home contests this weekend. The Gusties enter the matches with a 21-2 record overall and a 7-0 mark in the MIAC. They take on Concordia (8-14, 4-3 MIAC) on Friday at 7 p.m. and St. Benedict (20-5, 7-0 MIAC) on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Football Seeking 500th All-Time Win Saturday at Home vs. Augsburg

The Gustavus football team is aiming for its third straight and 500th all-time victory Saturday as it hosts Augsburg University at 1 p.m. at Hollingsworth Field. The Gusties are 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 2-5 overall and 0-5 in the league.

Men’s Soccer Extends Winning Streak to Seven

In a match rescheduled from Sept. 19 due to poor field conditions at Viterbo, the Gustavus men’s soccer team Wednesday played host to the V-Hawks on its reserve field and extended its winning streak to seven with a 2-0 victory. The Gusties also increased their unbeaten streak to 11 matches as they improve to 12-1-1 overall.
