LEXINGTON, Ky. – One day after receiving MIAC Setter of the Week, Nora Holtan (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) has been recognized as the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III Player of the Week for her exceptional play in two conference victories last week. Holtan is the first Gustavus volleyball player to earn the national award in program history.

Holtan broke a 22-year old Gustavus record on Friday night, as her season-high 53 assists enabled the senior to surpass Jess Lobben’s (1993-96) career assists mark of 4,201. Holtan then tallied 47 assists and 14 digs in a four-set win over Saint Ben’s on Saturday in a matchup of previously undefeated MIAC teams. She now has 14 career 50-plus assist matches.

Holtan and the Gusties travel to Augsburg on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. match. A Gustavus victory would clinch at least a share of the MIAC championship.
