Men’s Soccer Upset 1-0 in MIAC Semifinals

The Gustavus men’s soccer team was upset in the MIAC semifinals by Augsburg 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Gustie Soccer Field. The top-seeded Gusties outshot the No. 5 Auggies 18-2, but were unable to find the back of the net in a season-ending loss. After winning its record 15th MIAC regular season championship, Gustavus finishes the season 14-3-1.

Volleyball Earns Multiple Honors in MIAC Postseason Awards

The Gustavus volleyball team received a number of honors Wednesday as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its volleyball awards. Rachelle Sherden was named MIAC Coach of the Year for the second time in four years, Nora Holtan (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) earned Player of the Year for the third straight season, and Brittany Luethmers (Sr., Prior Lake, Minn.) garnered her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year honor.

Men’s Soccer Hosts Augsburg in MIAC Semifinal Wednesday

The Gustavus men’s soccer team is set to host Augsburg in a MIAC semifinal match at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gustie Soccer Field. The No. 1 Gusties earned the MIAC regular season title with an 8-1-1 record and are 14-2-1 overall. The No. 5 Auggies (12-3-2) advanced to the semifinals by defeating St. Thomas in penalty kicks today.

Nolan Larson Earns MIAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week

With his performance this past weekend at the Luther Swimming and Diving Meet Nolan Larson (So., West Des Moines, Iowa) was awarded MIAC Swimming Athlete of the Week.

Veldman Named MIAC Offensive Player of the Week

Michael Veldman (Sr., Becker, Minn.) passed for 417 yards - the second most in his career - and accounted for five total touchdowns as Gustavus cruised to a 62-28 win at Carleton for the Gusties' fourth consecutive victory. For his performance, Veldman has been named MIAC Football Offensive Player of the Week. 

Swimming and Diving Competes at Morningside

The Gustavus men's and women's swimming and diving team sent part of its roster to Morningside College as part of its split squad meet on Saturday. 

Men’s Hockey Loses 3-0 to Concordia

Despite posting a 42-23 advantage in shots Sunday, the Gustavus men’s hockey team lost 3-0 to Concordia at the MIAC Showcase at the Schwan Super Rink. The Gusties drop to 1-1 overall as the Cobbers improve to 2-0.

Both the Gustavus men's and women's swimming and diving teams took to Iowa to compete in a split squad meet on Saturday.
