NORFOLK, Va. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named the Gustavus men’s and women’s teams to its Scholar All-America list for the 2018 Spring Semester. The 710 teams selected represent 476 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA Divisions. The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Gustie men achieved a 3.42 team GPA, while the women posted a 3.32. The CSCAA will announce its individual Scholar All-American next week.

On June 27, the CSCAA selected swimmers to its Scholar All-America Team. The award recognizes students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Gustavus is represented on the Scholar All-America Team by Kennedy Holwerda (Sr., Willmar, Minn.) and Maddie Westendorp (So., St. Michael, Minn.) on the women’s side, and Mack Christianson (Fy., Cottage Grove, Minn.) as honorable mention on the men’s side.
