TEMPE, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its 2018 Division III Regional Award winners Thursday and Gustavus men’s standout Mohanad Alhouni (Sr., Tripoli, Libya) was named Central Region Senior Player of the Year.
As he nears the end of his historic collegiate career, Alhouni recently earned All-MIAC singles and doubles honors for the fourth time. Ranked as the top Division III singles player in the country after capturing the national championship at the ITA Oracle Cup last October, Alhouni went 4-0 in the MIAC in singles play and is 27-8 overall. As the No. 6-ranked doubles team in the nation along with Patrick Whaling (Jr., Manakin Sabot, Va.) as his partner, the duo went 5-0 in the MIAC and is 22-5 overall.
Alhouni will compete in the NCAA singles and doubles championships (with Whaling) May 24-26 to complete his collegiate career.
