Baker Named MIAC Women’s Tennis Athlete Of The Week

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Athlete of the Week award winner for women’s tennis on Tuesday and Gustavus’s Ally Baker (Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) was honored with the distinction.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its Athlete of the Week award winner for women’s tennis on Tuesday and Gustavus’s Ally Baker (Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) was honored with the distinction.

Baker helped guide the Gusties to the program’s 29th regular season MIAC championship as they earned four road wins over Bethel, St. Kate’s, Hamline, and Macalester to close out the season with an undefeated 10-0 record in Conference play. Baker went 8-0 through the four matches, including four victories at No. 1 doubles. The honor stands as the second of her career. 

Gustavus enters the MIAC Playoffs as the No. 1 seed and is set to host a semifinal match versus the winner of No. 4 seed Bethel and No. 5 seed Macalester at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
