Men’s Tennis Sweeps Three Matches

The No. 10-ranked Gustavus men’s tennis team went 3-0 Saturday as a split squad, winning all three matches by 9-0 decisions. The Gusties defeated Concordia-Moorhead and Northwestern-St. Paul at the Swanson Tennis Center, and beat St. Olaf in Northfield. The wins improve the Gusties to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC.

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's basketball team turned in a record-setting performance on Saturday night in Whitewater, Wis., defeating the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 74-60 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Mikayla Miller (Sr., Goodhue, Minn.) became the Golden Gusties' all-time leader in career points scored with 1,792.

Women’s Hockey Falls 4-1 To Hamline In MIAC Playoff Championship Game

The Gustavus women’s hockey team lost to Hamline 4-1 Saturday afternoon in the MIAC playoff championship game at Don Roberts Ice Rink. The loss snaps a 12-game unbeaten streak as the Gusties move to 20-3-4 overall. Hamline receives an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Championships, which begins next Saturday, while Gustavus will wait until Monday to see if it receives an at-large bid.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced its 2017 fall sports postgraduate scholarship winners and Gustavus women’s soccer player Josie Mazzone (Sr., Rapid City, S.D.) was one of 58 student-athletes out of all three divisions to receive the prestigious scholarship.

Seniors Lead Gustavus Women’s Basketball To NCAA Tournament Win Over Rose-Hulman

Friday evening’s NCAA women’s basketball opening round matchup between Gustavus and Rose-Hulman lived up to the moniker of “March Madness” with the game going down to the wire, but in the end the Gusties came out on top 60-52 to claim their first NCAA tournament win since 2003. The Gusties started the game with a 17-4 lead in the first six minutes of the game and never trailed. Gustavus advances to the round of 32 tomorrow at 7 p.m.

Women’s Hockey Hosts Hamline In MIAC Playoff Title Game Saturday

The No. 5-ranked Gustavus women’s hockey team is set to play in its first MIAC playoff championship game since the 2013-14 season and is looking for its first playoff title since the 2012-13 campaign. The Gusties (20-2-4) host Hamline (19-4-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Don Roberts Ice Rink. Gustavus advanced to the title game with a 4-0 win over Bethel, while the Pipers defeated Augsburg 4-1.
