MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – After four sessions and two days at the MIAC Championships, the Gustavus women’s swim & dive team remains in second place with 429 points behind St. Thomas at 558 and ahead of St. Olaf at 322.
Two relay teams and two individuals earned All-Conference honors in the fourth session of the conference meet. The 200 medley relay team of Kennedy Holwerda (Sr., Willmar, Minn.), Madeline Westendorp (So., St. Michael, Minn.), Kate Reilly (Sr., Hastings, Minn.), and Maggie Webster (Jr., Apple Valley, Minn.) took second with an NCAA B qualifying time of 1:44.97. The 800 free relay team of Sydney Hallmark (Jr., Cedarburg, Wis.), Amelia Bjorklund (Fy., Bloomington, Minn.), Hayley Pesik (Jr., Eagan, Minn.), and Webster took third in 7:50.14.
Individually, Reilly claimed bronze in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 57.58, while Webster also captured a third place finish, touching the 200 freestyle wall in 1:54.32.
Holwerda had a strong showing in the 100 backstroke, taking fourth place in 58.39. Pesik placed fifth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:43.74, and Hallmark touched the wall fifth in the 200 free, clocking a time of 1:55.39.
The MIAC Championships conclude tomorrow with sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
