Women’s Hoops Erases First Half Deficit, Cruises To 78-56 Win Over Augsburg

For the third-straight game, the Gustavus women’s basketball team was able to erase a first quarter deficit and proceed to a convincing win, this time 78-56 over Augsburg on Wednesday. The No. 12-ranked Gusties stay perfect with the win, moving to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the MIAC, while the Auggies drop to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.

Draayer’s Hat Trick Propels No. 6 Women’s Hockey To 4-3 Win Over No. 5 UW-River Falls

In a high-profile game between two top-10 teams in the nation, it was senior captain Diana Draayer (Deephaven, Minn.) who came up big for the Gustavus women’s hockey team, recording her second career hat trick in a 4-3 win over UW-River Falls on Wednesday night. The No. 6 Gusties move to 7-1-1 with the win, while the No. 5 Falcons fall to 6-2-2.

Men’s Basketball Posts 64-62 Comeback Victory At Augsburg

Down by 12 points four minutes into the second half, the Gustavus men's basketball team went on a 17-4 run to take the lead en route to winning 64-62 at Augsburg University Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

Women’s Hockey Faces UW-River Falls In Series Of Top-10 Teams

After sweeping Bethel last weekend in MIAC action, the Gustavus women’s hockey team is set for a top-10 battle this week against UW-River Falls. In a rematch of last season’s NCAA quarterfinal game, the No. 6 Gusties host the No. 5 Falcons at 7 p.m. tonight before traveling to River Falls, Wis. for the second game of series 2:05 p.m. Saturday. The Gusties enter the series 6-1-1 overall, while the Falcons are 6-2-1.

Men’s Basketball Prepares For Auggies

The Gustavus men’s basketball team is set to continue Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, heading to Minneapolis, Minn. to take on Augsburg University. The Gusties (4-2, 2-0 MIAC) will tip off against the Auggies (5-0, 3-0 MIAC) at 7 p.m.

Murakami And Parens Named To United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Second Team

The United Soccer Coaches recently announced the association’s NCAA Division III Men’s All-Region Teams, with Matt Murakami (Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.) and Arthur Parens (Jr., Wayzata, Minn.) earning All-North Region Second Team honors. 

Tanner Sonnek Named MIAC Men’s Swimmer Of The Week

For the second time this season, Gustavus swimmer Tanner Sonnek (Jr., North Mankato, Minn.) has been named MIAC Swimmer of the Week after his impressive performance at Grinnell’s Pioneer Classic on Friday and Saturday. Sonnek helped the Gusties claim first place out of 11 teams at the Pioneer Classic, claiming the top spot in both the 100 IM (53.10) and 200 breaststroke (2:05.55). The Mankato West product was also a member of the winning 200 freestyle relay team (1:27.52).

Women’s Basketball Continues Home Stand Wednesday, Hosts Augsburg

The No. 12-ranked Gustavus women’s basketball team continues its six-game home stand at 7 p.m. Wednesday, hosting Augsburg University in a MIAC matchup. The Gusties enter the game 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the MIAC, while the Auggies are 4-2 and 1-0 in the league.

Men’s Hockey Earns Second Consecutive Shutout, Sweeping Bethel

A four-goal second period and a 29-save shutout performance from goaltender Chris Amsden (Jr., St. Peter, Minn.) propelled the Gustavus men's hockey team to a 4-0 victory over Bethel University Saturday evening, completing the series sweep. 

Women’s Swimming & Diving Wins Grinnell Pioneer Classic

The Gustavus women’s swimming & diving team took first place out of 11 teams Saturday at the Pioneer Classic, hosted by Grinnell College. The Gusties accumulated 1898.5 points, more than 800 points over second place Grinnell. After racing out to a first place start in Session 1 Friday night, the Gusties won eight of 15 events on Saturday and placed second in the remaining seven events.
