Women’s Swimming & Diving Wins Grace Goblirsch Invite

The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team hosted the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday and came away with a convincing win. The Gusties accumulated 786 points for first place. St. Catherine took second place with 552 points and Macalester placed third at 458. Gustavus won nine individual events and two relays.

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s swimming and diving team hosted the fourth annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday and came away with a convincing win. The Gusties accumulated 786 points for first place. St. Catherine took second place with 552 points and Macalester placed third at 458.

“For as hard as we are training at this time of the season I was very pleased with our results,” Head Coach Jon Carlson said. “They really stepped up. The energy wasn’t at their best, but they swam smarter and we improved on things we’ve been working on in practice. I’m looking forward to our meet at Grinnell in two weeks after a little bit of a break and see what they can do.”
