ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus volleyball team continues Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon, looking to build momentum from Wednesday’s victory with a weekend matchup with St. Catherine University at Gus Young Court.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gusties made quick work of Macalester College on Wednesday evening at Gus Young Court, sweeping the Scots to bounce back from two consecutive losses last weekend. Gustavus forced 26 Macalester errors and posted a season-high .379 attack percentage with 29 kills off 58 attempts. In addition, the Gusties tied a season-high with 10 service aces.
IN THE POLLS
The Gusties dropped one spot in the most recent Division III National rankings, dropping from No. 10 to No. 11 in the AVCA Coaches Poll. Fellow MIAC opponents University of St. Thomas is ranked No. 17, along with Bethel University receiving votes.
THE SERIES
Saturday’s contest marks the 67th all-time meeting between Gustavus and St. Catherine with the Gusties holding a 41-24-2 advantage over the Wildcats. Gustavus is currently riding a six-game winning streak over St. Kate’s, including a 3-1 win last season at Gus Young Court.
SCOUTING ST. KATE’S
The Wildcats are in search of their first conference win, owning a 0-4 mark during MIAC play after being swept at Augsburg University on Wednesday. With a 6-9 overall record, St. Kate’s owns a .156 attack percentage while averaging 10.7 kills per set. Junior Mackenzie Peper leads the Wildcat attack with 136 kills on the season, averaging 2.39 per set. In addition, sophomore Kelly Breuer leads the conference with 30 service aces.

- Brittany Luethmers (Jr., Prior Lake, Minn.) ranks second in the MIAC with 299 digs, averaging 5.07 per set.
