Men’s Golf Ranked No. 20 In GCAA Preseason Poll

The Gustavus men’s golf team received 82 points and are ranked No. 20 in the Golf Coaches Association of America Preseason Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. 

NORMAN, Okla. – The Gustavus men’s golf team received 82 points and are ranked No. 20 in the Golf Coaches Association of America Preseason Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. 

Fellow Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents Saint John’s University is ranked No. 16 along with the University of St. Thomas being ranked No. 24.

The University of Texas-Tyler ranked first, claiming three first-place votes. Second-ranked and defending NCAA champion Wittenberg tallied six first-place ballots. No. 3 Methodist (one), fifth-ranked Huntingdon (five), seventh-ranked Emory (1), and No. 11 Oglethorpe also received first-place votes. Guilford and Greensboro, ranked fourth and sixth, respectively. Rhodes checked in at No. 8 and was followed by Illinois Wesleyan and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

The next Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Polls will be released September 29.

Gustavus men’s golf opens their 2017 fall campaign Sept. 2-3 at the Transylvania Invite in Lexington, Ky.
