Gustavus Set To Induct Nine New Members Into Athletics Hall Of Fame

The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department has chosen nine individuals for induction into its Athletics Hall of Fame. The 2017 inductees include Brian Bergstrom ’02 (Football), Ryan Britz ’00 (Football), Sarah Garrison Moe ’02 (Hockey), Alicia Golembeski ’02 (Golf), Chad Gustafson ’01 (Golf), Brad Mazer ’02 (Baseball), Brenda Magoba ’97 (Track & Field), Rauha Rahkola ’97 (Cross Country/Track & Field), and Jerry Connolly (Coach). This group will be honored at the Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet, which will be held in Alumni Hall on Saturday, Sept. 23, following the Homecoming football game against Hamline at 1 p.m.

Gustie Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that 822 teams have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2016-2017 season. This number breaks the previous year's total of 764 to set an all-time high. The Gustavus volleyball team was one of 150 Division III recipients of the award. 

Men’s Tennis Earns ITA Academic Awards

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the 2017 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes on Tuesday. In all, 720 teams and 3,908 student-athletes across all five divisions of college tennis were honored. The Gustavus men's tennis team earned the All-Academic Team award as well as 10 Gusties earning the Scholar-Athlete award.

Gustie Softball To Host Summer Clinics

The Gustavus softball program is excited to be hosting multiple clinics this summer for the age groups of 10, 12, 14-under along with 16 and 18-under. Head Coach Britt Stewart and Assistant Coach Kyhl Thomson will host the clinics on June 27-28 and August 22-23 at Gustie Softball Field. 

Men’s Golf Receives GCAA Academic Honor

The Gustavus men's golf team is one of seven NCAA Division III men's golf teams to receive President’s Special Recognition status from the Golf Coaches Association of America. 

McKenzie Swenson Prepares For 3M Championship In Internship Role

McKenzie Swenson (Buffalo, Minn.), a three-year letter winner on the Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf team is currently taking part in an exciting internship as the Pro-Am and Fan Features Coordinator at the 2017 PGA Champions Tour 3M Championship.

Cash, Meierhenry, Nelson Named WGCA All-American Scholars

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced today with a total of 952 women’s collegiate golfers recognized and three Gustavus women's golfers included on the list.

Sophomore Sensations: Holtan, Sonnek Named 2016-17 Gustavus Student-Athletes Of The Year

One year removed from receiving the College’s Newcomer of the Year awards, volleyball setter Nora Holtan (So., Rochester, Minn.) and swimmer Tanner Sonnek (So., North Mankato, Minn.) are the 2016-17 Gustavus Student-Athletes of the Year.
