Softball Moves Into Third Place With Sweep Of Carleton

The Gustavus softball team moved into third place in the MIAC standings by sweeping Carleton on Saturday. The Gusties won by scores of 5-2 and 8-2, improving to 22-10 overall and 13-5 in the league.

Baseball Splits Against Carleton After Volness’ One-Hitter

The Gustavus baseball team split its doubleheader against Carleton on Saturday, winning game one 5-0 behind a one-hit pitching performance by Jacob Volness (Sr., Cokato, Minn.) and losing game two 4-0. With the split, the Gusties move to 14-18 overall and 5-11 in the MIAC.

Women’s Tennis Splits With Martin Luther, Carleton

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team split a pair of Saturday matches at the Swanson Tennis Center, taking down Martin Luther College 9-0 and falling to Carleton College 7-2. The split puts the Gusties at 18-7 overall, and 8-1 in the conference. The Gusties face Macalester tomorrow with a chance to clinch a three-way tie with Carleton and St. Thomas for the MIAC Regular Season Championship.

Men’s and Women’s Golf To Compete In Final Regular Season Meets This Weekend

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's and women's golf teams are set to compete in their final meets of the 2015-16 regular season this weekend, as the men compete in a dual with the University of St. Thomas on Sunday, while the women will play in the Carleton Invite on Saturday and Sunday. The men's dual with the Tommies is set to begin at noon at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn., while the women will play at Bellwood Oaks Golf Course in Hastings, Minn.

Softball Set For Two Key MIAC Doubleheaders This Weekend

The Gustavus softball team has two key MIAC doubleheaders this weekend. On Saturday, the Gusties travel to Northfield, Minn. for a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Carleton, and on Sunday, the Black and Gold returns home to host St. Catherine for another 1 p.m. doubleheader. Sunday's game is Senior Day and will be live streamed.

Women’s Tennis Set For Final Regular Season Matches This Weekend

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team concludes its regular season this weekend with three matches, with the Gusties hosting Martin Luther College and Carleton College on Saturday and traveling to Macalester College on Sunday. Gustavus enters the weekend as the only undefeated team in the MIAC at 8-0, meaning wins over Carleton (8-1) and Macalester (1-7) would give the Black and Gold their second consecutive and 28th total MIAC Regular Season Championship.

The Gustavus baseball team is set to host a pair of doubleheaders this weekend at the Gustie Baseball Field. On Saturday, the Gusties host Carleton for a 1 p.m. MIAC doubleheader, and on Sunday the University of Minnesota-Morris comes to town for a 1 p.m. non-conference doubleheader. For the first time ever, Saturday's baseball games will be live streamed via the Gustavus GameCentral portal with live play-by-play.

Track & Field Teams To Host Drake Alternative This Weekend

The Gustavus Adolphus College men's and women's track and field teams are set to host the Drake Alternative Meet this Saturday at the Gustavus Track & Field Complex. Field events are set to run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while track events are slated to begin at 11 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m.

The Gustavus softball team's non-conference doubleheader vs. UW-Stout today has been cancelled with no make-up date. The Gusties next travel to Carleton on Saturday for a 1 p.m. MIAC doubleheader.

Marit Sonnesyn Named MIAC Outdoor Track Athlete-Of-The-Week

The Gustavus women's track and field team traveled to La Crosse, Wis., for UW-La Crosse's Phil Esten Challenge last week, and Marit Sonnesyn's (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) performance alone made the trip more than worthwhile for the Gusties. The senior runner broke the Gustavus school record in the 10,000-meter run by more than 30 seconds, while also recording a first-place finish in the race. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Sonnesyn Wednesday with the MIAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week award.
