Swimming & Diving Concludes Competition At Jean Freeman Invite

The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads concluded competition at the Jean Freeman Invitational Saturday on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s and women’s swimming and diving squads concluded competition at the Jean Freeman Invitational Saturday on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

MEN

In the 200-yard medley relay, the Gustavus team of Frankie Zobitz, Tanner Sonnek, Ryan Sklar, and Matt Allison earned the top team time at 1:38.45, good for 14th place. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Zach Dawson, Tanner Sonnek, Adam Peters, and Matt Allison placed 13th with a time of 3:19.79.

Zach Dawson was 13th in the 400-yard individual medley and also 13th in the one-mile race with a time of 17:13.66.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Matt Allison placed 12th with a time of 47.99.

Tanner Sonnek earned a seventh place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, coming in at 2:09.08.

In one-meter diving, Jonathan Bovee was 13th with a score of 208.60.

WOMEN

In the 200-yard medley relay, the top finish came from the team of Hayley Booher, Haley Pesik, Kate Reilly, and Maggie Webster. They finished in 10th place with a finals time of 1:52.01. Nicole Lohman, Haley Pesik, Maggie Webster, and Kate Reilly also competed in the 400-yard freestyle relay and finished in 10th place with a time of 3:44.31.

Hayley Booher was 12th in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:46.33.

Haley Pesik finished in 19th in the one-mile race with a time of 18:42.92.

Gustavus swimming and diving next prepares for its Florida Training Trip, which runs from Dec. 27 through Jan. 2.
