ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus volleyball team is back to the friendly confines of Gus Young Court on Friday as it hosts Carleton College. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest begins at 7 p.m. and is designated as a Cancer Awareness match. Fans in attendance are encouraged to wear orange apparel in support of all cancer types. The Gustie volleyball team is dedicating the match in memory of the late Dan Rupar and his family, Deb, Daly, and Shaefer.

During the match there will be raffles that include Gustie t-shirts, sunglasses, and wristbands, with the grand prize being a gift basket from the Book Mark. The Hill Crew will host a paper airplane contest as well. Fans will have the opportunity to write the name of a cancer patient or survivor on an orange star for $1 to hang on the wall and be recognized. The volleyball team is asking fans to “bring change to make a change,” as it aims to fill up two Gatorade bottles with any pocket change or cash with all proceeds going to Stand Up To Cancer.
