BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustie running back Karim Ortiz (Jr., Cancun, Mexico) stepped into the starting lineup and into the spotlight in Saturday’s 35-13, come-from-behind win over Augsburg. The junior had a tremendous day running the ball with 180 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. Ortiz averaged 6.7 yards per carry, and his top highlight was a 43-yard touchdown run that got Gustavus on the board early in the third quarter as the team scored 35 unanswered points in the second half to surge to victory and remain undefeated (3-0 overall, 1-0 MIAC). Both the two touchdowns and 180 yards are career-best marks for Ortiz.
