Men’s Tennis Begins Texas Competition Tuesday

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s tennis teams begins a flurry of Texan competition that will see it play six matches in a four day stretch beginning Tuesday in San Antonio. During their spring break trip to the Lone Star State, the Gusties will continue to see the top-flight competition that they’ve become accustomed to in recent weeks, as the team will take on three nationally-ranked foes. The team’s schedule for its week in San Antonio can be found below:

Tuesday
vs. Our Lady of the Lake | 2 p.m.
vs. St. Mary’s University-Texas | 3 p.m.

Thursday
vs. No. 10 Trinity University | 4 p.m.

Friday
vs. No. 12 Washington University-St. Louis | 10 a.m.
vs. Texas Lutheran University | 6 p.m.

Saturday
vs. No. 27 University of Texas at Tyler | 10 a.m.

Notes
-The Gusties enter the trip with an overall record of 13-3 and a national ranking of 19.
-Gustavus’s matchup with the University of Texas at Tyler will be the second between the two schools this season. In the first meeting on March 12, the Gusties came away with a narrow 5-4 victory after coming back from down 4-1 to win three three-set matches to take the win.
-The Black and Gold faced Trinity at the ITA National Indoor Championships in St. Peter last season and suffered a 6-3 defeat.
