Day One Results

GRINNELL, IOWA – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s swimming and diving team is in second place with 506 points following the opening day of the Grinnell College Invitational being held over the weekend at the Grinnell Natatorium in the Charles Benson Bear ’39 Recreation and Athletic Center. The Gusties posted three event wins and a total of eight top-three finishes on day one of the 13-team meet. The University of Nebraska-Omaha leads the field with 630 points, while Grinnell rounds out the top-three with 392.

Second-year Kate Reilly (Hastings, Minn.) stood out for the Gusties on the meet’s first day with two individual victories, including her top finish in the 100 IM with a time of 1:00.75, and in the 100 Free with a 53.48. Reilly also contributed in the Gusties’ 200 Free Relay win, along with Nicole Lohman (Jr., North Mankato, Minn., Maggie Webster (Fy., Apple Valley, Minn.), and Tarin Anding (Sr., Sartell, Minn.).

Linnea Rizzo (Fy., Woodbury, Minn.) and Hayley Booher (Jr., Warren, Vt.) each notched runner up honors on the day. Rizzo finished the 500 Free in 5:13.67, while Booher concluded the 200 IM in 2:14.43.

Gustavus will look to build upon its Friday success on Saturday, with preliminary races beginning at 9 a.m. Finals begin later at 5 p.m.
