Men’s Hockey Falls To St. Thomas 3-2 In MIAC Opener

Despite leading for the entire second period and most of the third, the Gustavus Adolphus College men's hockey team could not hold onto a 2-1 lead, letting in two goals in the final 3:37 to suffer a 3-2 loss to the University of St. Thomas on Friday evening at St. Thomas Ice Arena. The loss moves Gustavus to 1-2-2 overall and 0-1-0 in the MIAC, while St. Thomas improves to 2-1-2 overall and 1-0-0 in the MIAC.

Women’s Soccer Nearly Completes Comeback, Drops Heartbreaker 2-1 To Wheaton At NCAA Tourney

It was a battle all the way to the final seconds as the Gustavus women’s soccer team nearly completed the comeback on Friday night in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, but Wheaton was able to make a number of late-game saves and escaped with a 2-1 win over the Gusties. With the loss, the Gusties finish their remarkable turnaround season with a 13-7-1 overall record.

Men’s Basketball Tips Off 2015-16 Season At Northwestern-St. Paul

Football Hosts St. Thomas In Season Finale On Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus football team finishes its 2015 campaign on Saturday with a 1:10 p.m. matchup against No. 4-ranked St. Thomas. The Gusties enter the game with a 7-2 overall record and 5-2 mark in the MIAC after a thrilling 41-24 come-from-behind victory over Concordia last week, while the Tommies are 9-0 overall and 7-0 in the MIAC after defeating Carleton 80-3 last week in St. Paul.

Men’s Hockey Begins MIAC Schedule This Weekend Against St. Thomas

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey team begins its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule this week as it takes on the University of St. Thomas in an away-home series on Friday (7 p.m.) and Saturday (7:05 p.m.). The Gusties enter this weekend’s series with a 1-1-2 overall record, while the Tommies enter with an identical 1-1-2 overall record.

AVCA Names Sherden Region Coach Of The Year, Taylor And Holtan Also Honored

The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its Division III Regional Awards on Thursday and three Gusties were honored. Rachelle Sherden was named Central Region Coach of the Year, while Alyssa Taylor (Sr., Trimont, Minn.) was named All-Region as a middle blocker and Nora Holtan (Fy., Rochester, Minn.) was named Honorable Mention and the Central Region Freshman of the Year.
