Swimming & Diving To Host Second Annual Race For Grace On Saturday

The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are set to host the second annual Grace Goblirsch Memorial Invitational on Saturday at the Vic Gustafson Pool. Gustavus feels privileged to host the Race For Grace, which honors former Gustie swimmer Grace Goblirsch who passed away on August 23, 2013 after losing a courageous eight-month battle with acute myelogenous leukemia.

Women’s Basketball Victorious In Home Opener, Defeats UW-Stout 72-67

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's basketball team put together another strong second half showing and earned a 72-67 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Friday evening at Gus Young Court. The win pushes the Gusties to 2-0 overall, while the Blue Devils fall to 2-1 overall.

Women’s Hockey Skates To 2-2 Tie At Augsburg

The Gustavus women’s hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie against Augsburg College on Friday night, moving to 2-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the MIAC.

Men’s Hockey Continues MIAC Play This Weekend Against Augsburg

The Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey team is set to take on Augsburg College in a home-away series this weekend. The Gusties enter the series with a 1-3-2 overall record and 0-2 mark in the MIAC after getting swept in a two-game series with the University of St. Thomas last weekend. The Gusties lost 3-2 last Friday in Mendota Heights and then lost 2-1 on Saturday in St. Peter. The Auggies enter with a 3-3 overall record after defeating UW-Stout 4-1 last Friday and UW-River Falls 2-1 last Saturday.

Women’s Basketball Set To Open Home Schedule With Gustavus Classic This Weekend

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s basketball team will begin its 2015-16 home schedule this weekend when it hosts the Gustavus Classic at Gus Young Court on Friday and Saturday. Four teams will participate in the tournament, including Gustavus, Simpson College, UW-River Falls, and UW-Stout.

Women’s Hockey Faces Augsburg This Weekend

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s hockey team is set to take on Augsburg College in a home-home series this Friday and Saturday. Gustavus heads into the weekend with an overall record of 2-1-1 and MIAC mark of 1-1-0, while Augsburg enters the series at 3-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the conference. Friday’s game will be played at Ed Saugestad Rink on the Augsburg campus in Minneapolis, with faceoff set for 7 p.m., while Saturday’s game will be played at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter at 2 p.m.

Sophie Leininger Honored With MIAC Elite 22 Award

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced Wednesday its Elite 22 Award winners and Gustavus Adolphus sophomore midfielder Sophie Leininger (Plymouth, Minn.) has been named the conference’s recipient of the honor for women’s soccer.

Alyssa Taylor Named AVCA Third Team All-America

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday announced its 35th annual All-America teams for NCAA Division III and Gustavus Adolphus College senior middle hitter Alyssa Taylor (Trimont, Minn.) has been named to the Third Team. Taylor becomes just the fifth Gustie to earn All-America honors, and first since 1986, in the 47-year history of the program. Taylor joins Amy LeClaire-Sachs (1984) Linn Erickson (1985, ’86), Valerie Flom (1985, ’86) and Deborah Jungwirth (1986) as the only Gusties to be named All-America.
