ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s swimming and diving teams earned a 153-141 victory over St. Olaf College on Friday evening at the Vic Gustafson Pool.

“We knew this was going to be a very close meet,” said Coach Jon Carlson. “We knew St. Olaf had beaten St. Thomas last week and that they were the team to beat in a dual meet. I was so impressed with how people stepped up to clinch a lot of close races. Leah Anderson’s 500 free victory really propelled us forward and was a key factor in us winning the meet. Coming back from 32 down due to not having divers is a tough feat to overcome, but again, we had some individuals who had standout performances down the stretch to help us pull it out. Today was certainly encouraging and I’m really looking forward to continue watching this team progress.”

In a meet loaded with standout individual performances, Hayley Booher and Leah Anderson took home gold in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.28 and 500 freestyle with a time of 5:20:55, respectively. Kate Reilly also turned in a few first places finishes, including the 100 butterfly (58.51 ) and 50 freestyle 24:57.

The Gustavus swimming and diving teams will be back in the pool on Friday, Nov. 20 for the Gustie Sprint Invite that will be held in St. Peter.
