Volleyball Looks To Clinch MIAC Title Outright Tonight During Senior Night

The Gustavus volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of Gus Young Court at 7 p.m. tonight as it hosts Hamline University. The Gusties enter the match after a pair of five-set road victories to improve to 23-2 overall and 9-0 in the MIAC, while the Pipers are coming off a 3-1 win over St. Olaf last Saturday to move to 11-13 overall and 3-6 in the league. A Gustavus win tonight would clinch the MIAC regular season championship outright, which is the first conference title since 1986.

Women’s Soccer Faces Final MIAC Road Test At Concordia Wednesday

The Gustavus women’s soccer team continues its quest to secure a MIAC Playoff berth Wednesday as it travels to Concordia College for a matchup between two postseason contenders. The Gusties are in second place in the MIAC with 21 points (7-2), while the Cobbers sit in a tie for fifth place with 15 points (5-4).

Alyssa Taylor Named MIAC Volleyball Hitter-Of-The-Week

The Gustavus volleyball team continued its remarkable run with a pair of huge five-set MIAC wins last week to clinch at least a share of the conference championship and extend its winning streak to 23 victories in a row. Leading the way was senior middle hitter Alyssa Taylor (Trimont, Minn./Martin County West), who accumulated 27 kills, a .230 hitting percentage, nine digs, eight blocks and two aces in the two victories. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Taylor Monday with the MIAC Volleyball Hitter-of-the-Week award.

UPDATE: After Saturday's results, Gustavus has clinched at least a share of the MIAC regular season championship. One more win or a loss by Saint Mary's would clinch an outright championship. This is Gustavus' first conference title since 1986 and fifth overall (1982, '84, '85, '86 and 2015).

Women’s Soccer Suffers First Home Loss, 2-1 To St. Kate’s

The Gustavus women’s soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on its home pitch Saturday afternoon, falling 2-1 to St. Catherine. The Gusties drop to 10-5-1 overall and 7-2-0 in the MIAC, while the Wildcats improve to 10-5-1 overall and 5-4-0 in league play.

Volleyball Wins Five-Set Thriller Over Concordia

The Gustavus volleyball team claimed a key road win Friday night as it defeated Concordia in a five-set thriller by scores of 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 27-29 and 15-10. With the win, the Gusties extend their record win streak to 22 and improve to 22-2 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC.
