Playoff Berth On The Line Saturday, Women’s Soccer Hosts St. Kate’s

With a win or tie Saturday, the Gustavus women’s soccer team would clinch its first ever MIAC Playoff berth since the league initiated its playoff system in 2003. The Gusties (10-4-1, 7-1-0 MIAC) host St. Catherine (9-5-1, 4-4 MIAC) at 1 p.m. tomorrow in a battle of two playoff contenders.

Volleyball Hits The Road For Pair Of Key Conference Matches

The Gustavus volleyball team has hit the final stretch of the regular season with just four conference games remaining before playoffs. The Gusties - who are 21-2 overall and in first place in the MIAC with a 7-0 record - became to first team in the league to clinch a playoff berth. But there is still plenty to battle for with home court advantage and the regular season championship up for grabs.

The Gustavus Adolphus College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Wednesday afternoon at the Gustie Soccer Field. With the win, the Gusties improve to 10-4-1 overall, while the Blue Devils fall to 6-6-3.

Women’s Soccer Hosts UW-Stout Wednesday In Final Non-Conference Game

The Gustavus women’s soccer team is set to play its final non-conference match of the season at 4 p.m. Wednesday as it hosts the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The Gusties enter with a 9-4-1 overall record, while the Blue Devils are 6-5-3 overall.

Men’s Soccer Blanks Bethany 7-0, Eli Bjerk Ties Single Game Assist Record

The Gustavus men’s soccer team had its highest offensive output of the season Monday afternoon as it defeated Bethany Lutheran College 7-0 in non-conference play, and in the process Eli Bjerk (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) posted three assists to tie the program record for most assists in a game. The record of three assists is held by three different players (Matt Lindberg, 1994; Caleb Bausu, 2005; Mark Adams, 2009).

Nora Holtan Earns Second Consecutive MIAC Setter-Of-The-Week Award

The Gustavus volleyball team made history last week, as its three wins pushed their current winning streak to 21 in row, which eclipsed the school record of 20-straight victories. Rookie Nora Holtan (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) continued to play beyond her years, as the first-year setter racked up 104 assists (10.40 per set) with 31 digs and 13 kills to lead the Gusties to the three big wins. For her performance, the MIAC sports information directors honored Holtan with her second-straight MIAC Volleyball Setter/Libero-of-the-Week award.

USPTA Names Coach Of The Year Award After Late Steve Wilkinson

The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) recently named its College Coach-of-the-Year Award the "Steve Wilkinson Collegiate Coach of the Year Award," after the late longtime Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis coach.

Volleyball Sets Program Record For Consecutive Wins, Beats Simpson And Loras

A 31-year old record stands no longer as the Gustavus volleyball team won its 20th and 21st straight matches Saturday, setting a new program record for consecutive victories. The Gusties defeated both Simpson College and Loras College in straight sets, breaking the previous program record of 20 consecutive wins to start the 1984 season. The Gusties are now 21-2 on the season.

Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Bethel 3-0

The Gustavus women's soccer team earned its fourth straight victory with a 3-0 shutout over Bethel on Saturday afternoon at the Gustie Soccer Field. The win bumps the Gusties' record to 9-4-1 overall and 7-1-0 in the MIAC, while the Royals fall to 3-11-0 overall and 0-8-0 in the MIAC.
