St. Peter, Minn. – Gustavus Adolphus Head Volleyball Coach Rachelle Sherden has announced the date for this spring’s Alumnae Match. The event will be held on Saturday, May 2, at 5:00 p.m. on Gus Young Court located in the Lund Center Forum.
New this year, the alumnae match will be paired with a benefit dinner supporting Karen Gilman, mother of senior volleyball Emily Gilman (Maple Grove, Minn.), who is currently battling stage three lung cancer. The benefit will be held in the Jackson Campus Center at 7:00 p.m. following the match. The benefit will provide moral support and financial assistance to the Gilman family during Karen’s arduous treatment process.
To register for the alumnae match and/or the benefit event, please fill out the online form at https://gustavus.edu/forms/volleyball-alumni-match.
Please respond online by Friday, April 2. The invitation for Karen’s benefit will be sent separately in March. Additional details of the benefit event will be included in the invitation.
Coach Sherden encourages all alumnae, family, and friends to come together in support Karen and the Gilman Family, in the same way they have supported Gustavus and the volleyball program the last four years. The match is meant to be a fun, laid-back celebration of the Gustavus volleyball program, so all former players, regardless of graduation year, are encouraged to participate.
Family members and significant others are also encouraged to join in on the fun. For more information about the 2015 Gustavus Alumnae Volleyball Match/Karen Gilman Benefit Dinner, please feel free to email or call Rachelle Sherden at rsherden@gustavus.edu or 507-933-6468.
