SAINT PETER, MINN. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s basketball team will host Bethel University on Monday evening for what will be the team’s final regular season home game and also Senior Night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Gus Young Court. Bethel won this season’s first contest between the two teams when it took home a 65-64 win over Gustavus in a nail-biting game with a wild conclusion on Jan. 21 in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
As is tradition at Gustavus, the final home game of the regular season is designated as Senior Night and a special tribute will be made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to the Gustavus men’s basketball program for the past four years.
Monday’s contest will be the first of a three-game week that will conclude the Gusties’ regular season. Gustavus will travel to Macalester College on Wednesday and Saint John’s University on Saturday. Each game will likely hold significant meaning for Gustavus, as the team is currently owns an MIAC mark of 9-8, is sitting in sixth place in the conference standings and holding down the last place in the race for the six-team MIAC Playoffs. With conference records of 8-9 and 7-11, respectively, Augsburg and Hamline are still within striking distance of Gustavus and will pose threats down the stretch.
