St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s soccer team welcomes the Royals of Bethel University to the Gusties Soccer Field for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown set to begin at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. With a spot in the 2014 MIAC Playoffs secure thanks to a 2-0 victory over Augsburg College in its last outing on Saturday in Minneapolis, Gustavus heads into the final week of the regular season sitting in a tie for third place in the conference standings with 16 points at 11-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the MIAC.  Bethel sits in sixth place with 12 points at 8-9-0 overall and 4-5-0 in the MIAC.

“Bethel will provide a stern test,” said Head Coach Mike Middleton.  “They have had a breakout season and will possibly make the MIAC Playoffs with a win today.  Needless to say, they will be highly motivated and determined to get something from the game.  We’ll have to match that and add quality and speed of play to the mix.”
