Ones to watch…
Janessa Jahnke (So., Blue Earth, Minn.) | Sophomore middle hitter Janessa Jahnke followed up a career-high 17-kill performance against St. Olaf with eight kills in last Friday’s 3-0 sweep of Macalester. After recording just 22 kills through the month of September, Jahnke has totaled 25 kills and is hitting at a .301 clip through Gustavus’s first two matches of October.
Ashley Pepper (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) | Junior right side hitter Ashley Pepper is the only member of Augsburg’s front row to record double-figure kills in each of the team’s last three matches. Within that time, Pepper has hit the floor with 58 kills and boasts an attack percentage of .328. Pepper currently leads the MIAC in kills with 314 and ranks ninth in hitting percentage at .290.
By the numbers…
5 – The number of aces recorded by Marisa Morgan (Fy., Rockford, Ill.) in last Friday’s win over Macalester. The Gusties currently rank sixth in the MIAC with 117 aces for an average of 1.54 aces per set.
.073 – The Scots’ attack percentage on Friday in St. Paul. It was the fifth time this season that Gustavus held its opponent to a hitting rate under the .100 mark.
