St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adophus volleyball team will be hosting “Backpacks For Nicaragua,” a fundraising effort benefiting the children of Nicaragua. As a part of the team’s service and training trip to Central America this summer, the Gusties will provide donated backpacks and other school supplies to Nicaraguan children who are in need of such items. Because of poor school conditions and the instability of local economies, Nicaraguan children have less than adequate school supplies. Backpacks have been identified as an item of great need in many of these impoverished areas.
Gustavus volleyball is asking the Gustavus and St. Peter communities for their assistance in donating backpacks that will be delivered to at-need children in Nicaragua by the team this summer. For more information on how to donate and Gustavus’s service-learning trip, please follow the link below.
