Men’s Tennis Defeats Chicago 7-2, Augustana (S.D.) 9-0

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s tennis team had another productive Saturday with a pair of wins against non-conference opponents at two different sites across the region.  In Gustavus’s opening match of the day, the first team earned an important 7-2 regional victory over the University of Chicago at the Pleasant Valley Tennis & Fitness Club in Jackson, Wis.  The Gusties’ second team later defeated Augustana College (S.D.) 9-0 at home in the Swanson Tennis Center.

Gustavus’s only blemishes on the scoresheet Saturday were wins at the No. 1 and 2 singles positions against Chicago.

The Gusties are now on an eight-game winning-streak and have improved to 9-1 overall with this weekend’s wins.  Gustavus will now get ready for a short turnaround and a match against UW-Whitewater on Sunday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m.
