St. Peter, Minn. – After the first six days of training camp, Gustavus Adolphus head men’s soccer coach Mike Middleton is pleased with the team’s enthusiasm and work ethic thus far. The squad reported to campus on Friday, Aug. 16 and has been in the full swing of training camp since then.
“Our intensity has been good and the guys are coming out ready to practice and ready to get after it,” said senior Sean Sendelbach. “We still have to improve in some areas but the goal is to get better every day and to keep working hard.”
Select groups are on the practice pitch from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for three separate morning sessions, while the afternoon consists of two sessions between 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Gustavus will take part in a scrimmage on Sunday, Aug. 25 at St. Thomas before breaking camp.
The Gusties will kick off their 2013 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30 when they play host to non-conference opponent Viterbo University at 6:00 p.m.
