St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus baseball team will travel to St. Paul for a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) doubleheader between the top two teams in the conference standings: the Gusties and the Tommies of St. Thomas. With a record of 27-5 (15-1 MIAC), St. Thomas sits atop the league ranks while Gustavus sits second with a record of 12-17 (9-5 MIAC).
The Gusties are coming off a split with Saint John’s just yesterday in Collegeville. After losing 1-0 in a nine inning defensive battle in game one, the Gustie bats came alive in game two to capture an 11-3 win. Meanwhile, St. Thomas is coming off a split with Bethel, which marked their first loss in conference play this season. The Tommies won game one 9-4 before falling in game two 2-0.
