Scouting The Gusties

Gustavus enters Wednesday’s match coming off of a 1-0 loss to St. Thomas on Saturday, and brings an overall record of 6-9-0 (3-6-0 MIAC) to the contest, which ranks tied for tenth in the MIAC.  The Gusties have scored a total of 18 goals this season, led by Junior Amanda Cartony (Stillwater, Minn.) and senior Tam Meuwissen (Chanhassen, Minn.).  Cartony has scored five goals and added two assists for a total of 12 points on the season while Meuwissen has accumulated four goals and two assists for 10 points.  Senior goalkeeper Jessica Richert (Freeburg, Ill.) has been the staple between the posts for the Gusties throughout the year.  Richert has tallied 124 saves to go along with her 6-9-0 record on the season.

Scouting The Wildcats

St. Catherine enters Wednesday’s match after being shut out each of its last two matches, losing to Concordia (3-0) and Macalester (1-0).  The Wildcats bring a record of 8-7-0 overall (3-6-0 MIAC) into the match, which places them in a tie for 10th in the conference with Gustavus.  St. Catherine is led by Christina Palk, who has scored a team-high six goals to go along with two assists for a total of 14 points.  Elly Leyva has scored five goals and added three assists for 13 points, while Lensa Gurmessa has tallied four goals and three assists for 11 points.  Leisl Wolf has notched a team-leading six assists on the year.
