The 11th-ranked Concordia College Cobbers proved to be too much to handle for the Gustavus women’s soccer team as the Gusties fell 5-0 in a MIAC match-up Sunday afternoon in Moorhead, Minn. The Cobber defense limited the Gusties to just two shots throughout the contest, while Gustavus goalkeeper Jessica Richert and her supporting cast were peppered with 22 shots – 13 on goal.

Marta Prosinski scored what proved to be the game-winner for the Cobbers 8:20 into the first period on an assist from Elizabeth Robinson. Gina Weiss put Concordia up 2-0 at the 14:32 mark with the help of Sarah Rounds and Ali Nelson. Halfway through the first, Richert committed a foul against Rochelle Hickerson, which led to a penalty kick. Rounds found the back of the Gustie net on the free kick, giving the Cobbers a 3-0 lead at the half.

Weiss and Robinson assisted Rounds’ second goal of the match at the 64:09 mark in the second period, and Haley Haddock tallied the fifth goal of the day, courtesy of Chelsea Klemetson and Killashandra Link.

Richert tallied eight saves in goal for Gustavus. Nora Christensen and Liz Underwood recorded the pair of shots on goal.
