Women’s Golf Wins Carleton Invitatonal

The Gustavus women’s golf team recorded a final round score of 322 to win the Carleton Invitational in Northfield on Saturday. Individually, Gustavus was led by Taylor Drenttel who placed second with a total of 81-79–160.

The Gustavus women’s golf team recorded a final round score of 322 to win the Carleton Invitational in Northfield on Saturday.  The Gusties, who are ranked #6 in the most recent NGCA Coaches Poll, posted a 36-hole total of 344-322-666 to finish three shots ahead of #4 UW-Eau Claire, which finished at 337-332-669. Individually, Gustavus was led by Taylor Drenttel who placed second with a total of 81-79–160.

All five Gusties contributing to the team score finished in the top 20 (out of 53 competitors).  Drenttel led the way with a second place finish, followed by Katie Schenfeld in sixth (90-78-168), Kayleigh Dittes in ninth (86-83–169), Rikka Holiday in 14th (89-82–171), and Ann Jackson in 18th (88-85–173).

Two Gustavus players participated in the tournament individuals including Nicole Tetrault who placed 31st (94-89–183) and Jessica Skaare who placed 47th (99-105–204).

The Gusties will take part in the UW-Eau Claire Invitational next weekend.
